Stéphane Blumer
Born in Geneva, CH, lives and works in London,UK. Stéphane Blumer aims to challenge the socio-cultural structures and conventions. His artistic practice is a reflection on our modes of communications within the oral and written traditions. Interested in the communicative function of language, Stéphane raises questions among topics such as our relationships with/on the Internet, censorship and the globalisation of cultural identity.
During his research residency at the IFP, Stéphane will focus on the notions of humour and cross-cultural communications. Informed by this research, a workshop as well as an exhibition will take place towards the end of his stay in Beijing in February 2014. This project was supported by ProHelvetia, China.
