While Andre Gingras and Cinedans take part in Crossings festivities and Cecilia Vallejos works in residence in Beijing, the Netherlands Dance Theatre I (NDT I) is announced to perform for the first time in Mainland China. NDT has been one of the leading modern dance companies world-wide since it was founded in 1959. The NDT I performances are scheduled October 14 and 15 in the Opera House of Beijing's new National Centre for Performing Arts. On the program are choreographies by Jiř� Kyli�n and Lightfoot Le�n. The company then moves on to Hong Kong where they will perform the opening of the New Visions Arts Festival on October 23, 24 and 25 in the Grand Theatre of the Hong Kong Culture Center.
Meanwhile, the Belgian Europalia festival is in full preparation of its China edition kicking off in October 2009. During 4 months, till February 2010, Europalia will reveal an authentic, unknown and contemporary China. The programme will include several hundred events: exhibitions, concerts, dance and theatre performances, cinema, literary encounters and conferences.
